Gran parte del curso se centrará en elaborar productos que sirven como base para crear un montón de cócteles alucinantes. Desde sencillos siropes de azúcar hasta complicadas granadinas, prepararás y abarcarás un cúmulo de distintos productos básicos para elaborar cócteles fantásticos.
El segundo día del curso pondrás en práctica todo lo que has aprendido y elaborarás tu propio y personal cóctel. Puede ser tu interpretación de un clásico o algo salido enteramente de tu imaginación. ¡Después compartirás tu receta con el resto del grupo y se inspirarán unos a otros con sus maravillosas creaciones!
Aprenderás a preparar cócteles dignos de servirse en la barra de los mejores bares de cóctelería. Rematarás tus obras maestras con sushi de piña, figuritas de chocolate, menta azucarada y muchos otros sorprendentes garnitura.
Course Highlights
The Mixology Course is an opportunity for talented bartenders or past and present EBS students to introduce themselves to the fascinating world of mixology. You’ll learn about the origins of bartending, remarkable products, techniques, and modern-day twists on classic cocktails. After your course, you’ll have a brand new outlook on the craft and will be able to wow customers with your knowledge and skills.
Course Content Overview
To get to know the cocktail families in depth, we’ll work our way forwards through time, starting with drinks made around the 5th century! Our instructors will show you how to prepare each drink whilst explaining its background: why it came about, how it used to be made, etc. Some of the facts you would never guess!
Find out what it takes to make a cocktail taste absolutely perfect. You’ll learn the different methods, techniques, and types of equipment required to make flawless drinks. You will discover:
- Which method is most suitable for each drink
- Why some drinks are shaken, stirred, or rolled
- Jiggers and strainers
- How to shake a drink, types of shakers and their uses
- Types of bar spoons
- Different mixing techniques
These masterclasses will stimulate both your mind and mouth. Understand what distinguishes each product or group and get your taste buds tingling as you try to recognise each ingredient on your tongue.
Here are just a few of the mixtures you’ll prepare:
- Syrup
- Cordial
- Shrub
- Punch
- Flip
- Foam
- Fat wash
- Dehydrated garnish
- Rapid infusion
And you can count on your instructor to offer you awesome, unexpected twists.
Just like in MasterChef, you’ll be given a box of random ingredients with which you’ll have the opportunity to create a delicious cocktail!
Relax, We've Got You Covered
We recommend that students take the Mixology Course after the International Bartender Course to complete their knowledge. It’s the perfect way to close your EBS experience as the two-day course takes place immediately after the IBC. However, no experience is required!
Yes! You can choose to stay at EBS accommodation. Most of our students stay with us as it's the best way to socialise during the course.
