What to expect from the International Bartender Course
Over the years, we’ve turned over 70,000 students into exceptional bartenders thanks to our rigorous training. In just four weeks, you’ll get the equivalent of six months’ experience, covering 65+ cocktail recipes, countless techniques and even a few flair moves.
For the past 20 years, we’ve been reviewing and updating our course, keeping it in-line with current practices and upholding the high standards we’re known for. Our course is designed by five world-renowned bartending experts: Marian Beke, Tom Dyer, Gavin Wrigley, Bjorn Kjellberg, Ludovic Ducroq.

What will you learn
As the saying goes, practise makes perfect so at EBS, you’ll spend most of your time behind our state-of-the-art bar stations making drinks and taking part in fun activities. We create an authentic bar environment with music playing and orders flowing to fully prepare you for a career in hospitality. This includes:

We teach you exactly how to become a bartender. It’s about so much more than mixing drinks. It requires a diverse skill set. You’ve got to have impeccable social skills as well as technical expertise and the ability to multitask and work under pressure. We’ll give you a clear insight into the role of the bartender and how you can be the very best.

Have fun getting to grips with all the fundamental bartending techniques like building, stirring, shaking, straining, rolling, layering and muddling. You’ll also become familiar with bar equipment including what glasses to use, different types of ice, shakers, strainers and more.
We’ll teach you the fundamentals of creating the perfect cocktail. You’ll learn how to make more than 65 international cocktails from mojitos and mai tais to bloody marys, espresso martinis and lots more during your time with us. You’ll also get to design your own unique cocktail during our mixology workshops and a lively cocktail competition. You’ll be tested on different cocktails each day and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practise (and taste!) them.
Impress your customers with your impressive spirit knowledge spanning vodka, gin, rum, tequila and whisky, to name just a few. You’ll learn about the different spirits and liqueurs from their history to production and flavouring techniques.
Learn the basics of alcohol law. This unit covers the legal age for alcohol consumption in different countries, alcohol units, responsible consumption and service techniques. This is essential knowledge for your bartending career.
Designed by industry leaders
Our curriculum has been developed by world-renowned bartenders, including Jesús Cabrera. Jesús is a multi-award-winning bartender who’s has spread his knowledge all over Mexico, from south to north, teaching countless generations of bartenders since earlies 2000s, participating in forums, training, masterclasses, etc.
He has worked as well as brand ambassador of different Mexican spirits brands and developed a unique bartending craft style: "Etnomixology", which holds the best of the classic bartending world and the richness of the Mexican ethnic flavors.
As well as being famous in the bartending world, Jesús Cabrera is a proud member of the EBS Board of Education. This means he helps design and updates our courses, ensuring they’re up-to-date with industry trends.
